May was certainly an exciting month for five lucky Brinklow members, who were able to take part in either the WI Centenary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace or the 100th Annual Meeting in the Albert Hall. Both occasions will be well remembered – Buckingham Palace for the colours of the clothes of the 8,000 guests and the tea!
The Annual Meeting will be remembered for the singing of Jerusalem with 6000 ladies including the Queen, Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex in the Albert Hall, and the birthday cake in the bus on the way home!
Now back to reality.
At our July meeting we will be trying our hand at CURLING – you did read that right. Played exactly the same as the ice version but the stones are on wheels, we think…hope!
Should be fun and a summer supper with Pimms will follow. So do come and join in the fun, on TUESDAY 14th JULY at 7.30 pm in the Chapel School Room. Visitors are very welcome.
