Further to the meeting with Rugby Regulatory Services today we can report they are confident it is not the Brinklow Quarry site which has had unannounced inspections on numerous occasions. There have been 15 various sites inspected in relation to discovering the source of the fly problem.
Consensus from the environment team is after elimination of most obvious sources they are actively seeking an illegal dumping of waste material. We have agreed a contact with Regulatory Services team of email ept@rugby.gov.uk.
Could you please ensure the email address above is used for any future contact if you need to pass on information or suspicious sites. They do ask for everyone to look for fly activity or strange smells while dog walking, rambling etc which may be in an isolated spot to report asap.
Unfortunately they do not have staff to answer individual reports sent to the email address but will look into all emails received.
